Growth of the Village
During the past 12 months a number of existing subdivisions have decided to become part of the Village of Wonder Lake. In the fall of 2004, Hickory Falls I and Hickory Falls II were the first to request annexation. Shortly thereafter the subdivisions of White Oaks Bay, Wooded Shores and Deep Springs Woods I followed and also requested to be annexed into the village. We welcome them into the growing Wonder Lake family. The village position on these annexation remains that each subdivision may choose if it wishes to join the village. Currently a number of other subdivisions around the lake are considering this option.

Water Company
In recent days we are pleased to have reached a preliminary agreement with TP Mathews to purchase the Sunrise Ridge and Highland Shores Water Companies. This was necessary to improve the quality of the water system. In the coming months and years the village will be replacing the unsightly water tower and increasing the storage capacity. Additionally we will be providing iron removal to improve the quality of the water along with performing necessary repairs that are required to insure quality water for the residents.

Summer Road Projects
Village residents in Hickory Falls 1 & 2 and White Oaks Bay will be receiving new roads.  Tree removal and road shaping has begin in Hickory Falls 1 &2 and when this is completed the crews will move to White Oakes Bay.  This road work is expected to continue through summer with completion of all paving done by the beginning of September.  At the completion of these projects residents will benefit from a safer and smoother commute through their subdivisions.

Thompson Road Bridge
We are currently working on Phase I engineering for the replacement of the Thompson Rd. bridge.  The current bridge was built in the mid 1960’s and needs to be replaced.  Federal grant money will facilitate the program.
