Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commissioners are appointed by the Village Board.  The Commission’s purpose is advisory to the Village Board. As an advisory and fact-finding panel, it is required to produce the Village of Wonder Lake Comprehensive Municipal Plan and hear matters pertaining to new subdivisions, developments, zoning variations, re-zoning, zoning ordinance amendments, and conditional use requests.  Chapter 18 of the Zoning Ordinance lists the required duties.

Meeting Schedule
The Planning and Zoning Commission has regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.  The meeting schedule is posted on the Village Notice Board outside the Village Hall. Meeting agendas are also posted there.
Our May through August schedule is one meeting per month…please check the Village Notice Board.

Building Permits
Many improvements to homes require a Building Permit. A residents best bet is to start by contacting our building inspector, Charlie.
Charlie is available at the Village Hall from 8:30 to 10 am Wednesdays and Fridays, or leave a message for him at 800-422-5220.

Comprehensive Muncipal Plan
The Village Planning Commission has created a Comprehensive Municipal Development Plan. This plan includes the following vision statement:

“The advancement of a Village governance to provide a full range of services to all residents of the recreational lake community and to require that land use planning will respect environmental resources so that aesthetics will be enhanced, open space promoted and Lake heritage and character preserved.”

The plan is available online. Click to Download (11.6 mbs) The entire plan with all maps is also available by contacting the village hall.
