Halloween 2020

Halloween Flyer

To all residents of the Village of Wonder Lake, from the Village President and Board of Trustees:

While the Village of Wonder Lake understands the value of preserving traditions such as Halloween, we want to remind everyone that we are currently living within a pandemic that has affected the lives of all of us, and the health of many.

The Village of Wonder Lake does not feel cancelling Trick or Treating would be productive, but we want to be clear that if you choose to participate you are doing so at your own risk. We also want to make sure those who choose to take part respect the concerns of others and adhere to the following guidelines:

Trick or Treating will be allowed between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday October 31, 2020.
All recommendations by the IDPH and McHenry County Department of Health such as social distancing and the use of appropriate masks (not just costume masks) are required.
For those who choose to receive Trick or Treaters, we ask that you leave your porch light on during this time frame. For those who do not, please keep your light off.

Take time to read the following information about Halloween celebrations and Trick or Treating from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) before you make the decision to take your children out this year:

Sincerely,

Tony Topf, President, Village of Wonder Lake
