About the Position

The Wonder Lake Police Department is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Police Administrative Assistant to support daily operations and help ensure the smooth, efficient functioning of the department.

· Starting salary $52,000 to $62,000 DOQ (Depending on Qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

· Answers phone calls for the Chief of Police and serves as personal secretary to the Chief

· Manages records, reports, and confidential documents

· Assists with FOIA requests, data entry, and report processing

· Greets and assists the public

· Maintains scheduling and internal communications

· Supports projects, training, and community programs

· Performs clerical duties as assigned

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)

· Prior administrative or clerical experience, ideally in government or law enforcement

· Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, records management)

· Excellent communication and multitasking skills

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and pass a background check
